Popular food delivery service Talabat have teamed up with Kitopi – a cloud kitchen platform, to provide 20,000 meals to those most affected by the coronavirus outbreak in Dubai.

The partnership between the pair involves Kitopi preparing and packaging 1,000 meals daily, which are then delivered by Talabat to communities in need. Talabat has collaborated with Dubai Police and the Dubai Health Authority as part of the initiative to ensure those most affected receive the help.

“These are unprecedented times that require us to think beyond ourselves. Our mission is to revolutionise the way people can access food, and for us today, that means helping to feed the most vulnerable,” said Jihad Bou Nasr, country manager of Kitopi UAE. “This initiative would not have been possible without our chefs, the local authorities and Talabat. Together, we’re determined to continue serving our communities.”

Mo Yildirim, Managing Director of Talabat UAE, added, “People are struggling, and it is particularly those who are living day-to-day or week-to-week who are most affected by this, who need the most help. We would like to thank the Dubai authorities for diligently and calmly managing the situation, Kitopi for cooking the fresh meals, but also our riders – not only for delivering these meals, but for continuing to deliver food, medicines and groceries across the emirate so people can stay home.”
