Ernst Biergarten & Wirtshaus at 25hours Hotel One Central is marking Germany’s beloved ‘Spargelzeit’—asparagus season—with a dedicated seasonal menu that brings a slice of Bavarian tradition to the UAE
Running from April 15 through to the end of May, this culinary showcase puts white and green asparagus front and centre, offering diners an authentic taste of spring as celebrated in Germany.
Led by Head Chef Markus Heinzelmann, the kitchen pays homage to the short but cherished harvest period of white asparagus (weißer Spargel), an ingredient revered across German-speaking Europe for its mild flavour and tender bite. The Ernst Asparagus Menu features classic preparations, beginning with Spargelcremesuppe, a velvety asparagus cream soup, and Gartensalat mit Spargel & Ei, a garden salad topped with marinated asparagus and egg.
“Asparagus season is an exciting time in Germany, and we are thrilled to bring this experience to Ernst,” says Chef Heinzelmann. “This menu reflects the simple yet rich flavours of Bavarian cuisine, showcasing the best of spring produce in a way that’s both traditional and accessible.”
For mains, diners can choose between white or green asparagus served with sauce hollandaise and new potatoes—a quintessential German spring dish. These can be paired with a range of traditional accompaniments including schnitzels (veal, chicken, pork), Black Forest ham, grilled salmon, seabass fillet, or a generous ribeye steak.
Dessert stays true to seasonal simplicity with Erdbeeren mit Sahne—fresh strawberries served with whipped cream. For those seeking a complete experience, Ernst offers a three-course asparagus set menu priced at AED 140 per person.
