Emirates Culinary Guild and US Beef Export Federation have announced the winners of the first GCC Virtual Competition

This summer, Emirates Culinary Guild and the US Beef Export Federation launched a virtual cooking competition open to all GCC residents. The four categories saw chefs create a dish with the star ingredient, US beef. Participating chefs could enter with a video or photograph, earning points for the most creative use of ingredients and presentation.

Leon Robin Rozario from Jumeirah Creekside Hotel won the Best Video Recipe under the Professional category, while Kanishka Dilhan Kulasekara from Radisson Blu Hotel DDC secured first place for the Best Recipe (pictured above). Chef Uwe Micheel, President of the Emirates Culinary Guild was incredibly impressed with the high standard in all entries.

In the amateur categories, the ladies came out on top. Alisa Belousova won the US Beef Recipe category, while Badya Sallam Khaireddin secured first place for the best US Beef Video.

Andrew Cuthbert, Chairman of the Emirates Culinary Guild, highlighted that the competitors came from various GCC countries, and properties on the winners’ list showcased talent from Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, Caesars Bluewaters Hotel, Zero Gravity, The Emirates Academy & Hospitality Management, Jumeirah Royal Bahrain.
