Bayroot Deli is a new Lebanese restaurant on Sheikh Zayed Road, combining charcoal-grilled meats, flame-cooked dishes, mezze, sandwiches, bowls, salads, shawarma and Lebanese deli favourites

The 56-seat, two-floor concept combines traditional Lebanese cooking with a deli format, offering dine-in, takeaway, delivery and office lunch options. The menu draws on founder Fadi Almahaini’s Lebanese upbringing, with olive oil, thyme and sumac sourced from the family’s farms in Lebanon. The kitchen focuses on charcoal and flame cooking, homemade preparation and consistent execution.

Dishes include Mlukhiyeh Bil Zeit, based on Fadi’s mother’s recipe of sautéed mlukhiyeh with lemon and garlic, topped with caramelised onions; Flame Bowls combining fire-cooked meats, grains, vegetables, pickles and house-made sauces; and shawarma carved from the spit. The menu also features Moufata’a Beirutiya, an Old Beirut dessert made with toasted flour, butter, spices and nuts, finished with honey and roasted seeds.

Bayroot Deli is a partnership between Fadi and his mother, combining his hospitality experience with her recipes and knowledge of Lebanese cooking. Fadi began working at his family’s manakish bakery in Beirut at 12, before studying Hospitality and Hotel Management and working across restaurants and hotels in Lebanon. He later moved to Dubai, where he also developed the Daddy’s Burger concept in Jumeirah.

His mother remains closely involved in Bayroot, contributing recipes and helping preserve the family’s culinary traditions, while produce sourced from their farms in Lebanon provides a direct connection to the family’s roots.
