Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek collaborates with GreeenTech to introduce a Hydroponic farm

The Czech start-up GreeenTech, who exhibited their innovative farm at Expo 2020, has teamed up with Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek to set up a full time Hydroponic farm at the hotel’s seafood restaurant Fish Market.

GreeenTech, that was founded in July 2020, produces hydroponic containers. This acts as a technological solution to enable local cultivation of vegetables, micro greens and small fruits anywhere in the world.

Dmitrij Lipovskij, CEO of GreeenTech explained that the company was founded by Karokina Pumprova, Milan Soucek and him, with the aim of producing hydroponic growing systems; and the main benefits of this concept includes up to 95 per cent savings in water consumption, a significant reduction in transport distances, the possibility of growing without protective sprays and rapid plant growth.

The start-up company displayed their innovation at the Czech Republic pavilion during Dubai’s Expo 2020; and it was there that the Hydroponic farm caught the eye of Jan Hanak, a Czech national and General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek.

Jan Hanak, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek conveyed that they were exposed almost daily to the innovative and technological solutions of the future on display at the pavilions; and knew they wanted to be a part of continuing the legacy of Expo as soon as they met the team at GreeenTech.

The farm is set up at Fish Market, the hotel’s seafood restaurant; and will officially open at the end of May, after which diners will be able to enjoy lettuce and radish both grown directly in the restaurant.
