Chef Jarvis Dong joins W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island as Culinary Director

W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island has welcomed Chef Jarvis Dong as its new Culinary Director

With nearly two decades of experience across East Asia and the Middle East, he has worked with celebrated names including Mandarin Oriental, The Ritz-Carlton and Six Senses.

Chef Jarvis will lead restaurants such as Garage, Brooklyn Chop House and Pappas Taverna, while also creating standout food experiences for this year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He is known for blending creativity with hands-on leadership, shaping menus and concepts that reflect the bold spirit of the W brand. Before joining W Abu Dhabi, he was Executive Chef at SLS Hotel & Residences Dubai, where he oversaw six divisions and built high-performing teams.

His career has also taken him through Madinat Jumeirah, Marriott’s Westin, The Ritz-Carlton Riyadh and Mandarin Oriental properties in Sanya, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Beyond the kitchen, he has driven sustainability efforts that earned recognition such as the Green Key Certificate 2024. As Yas Island gears up for race season, his appointment signals exciting new flavours and experiences to match the energy of the dynamic hotel.
